(Taipei, Taiwan, Aug. 2007) BCM Embedded Computer Inc., the Taiwan branch of the leading industrial motherboard provider BCM Advanced Research (based in the U.S.), officially established a sales and marketing focus, in addition to its on-going manufacturing operations, Aug.1, 2007. BCM Embedded Computer Inc. is directing its sales and marketing efforts in the European and APAC markets. In addition, BCM has made a strategic alliance with Advansus, partnering on the design and manufacture of several products.
The Industrial motherboard market segment was established by BCM USA by creating a cross between traditional IPC and Consumer PC motherboards. BCM specializes in providing custom and off-the-shelf motherboards with an emphasis on long lifecycle, customization, revision-control, and design support, and offers far greater flexibility and value when compared to other embedded board manufacturers. The x86 is an example of taking the robust features of a traditional IPC product and sliming it to a more cost effective solution. Due to the popularity of x86 system and its advantages (including its easy-upgrade capabilities, simple maintenance, powerful computing and lower cost), the x86 system has been used by several vertical markets such as Gaming, POS, KIOSK, Digital Signage and Digital Surveillance. BCM USA has been involved in this field approximately 10 years, and is a well-established brand in the North American market.

BCM has established its Europe and Asia business center in Taiwan, mainly due to Taiwan’s key position in IPC. In addition, the relationship with Advansus will add value to BCM’s design and manufacturing capabilities. BCM Taiwan’s Asia/Europe focus will complement its US counterpart, and will be key in transitioning BCM from a US-based company to a worldwide leader in the industrial motherboard market.
