The certification recognizes ABB’s commitment to sustainability by using innovative processes to achieve low-carbon, energy-efficient manufacturing.

The Green Factory certificate is issued to selected enterprises as the highest-level of recognition for their efforts in driving sustainability. The certification is part of China’s efforts to encourage the development of green and environmentally friendly industries. The ABB Beijing plant manufactures a wide range of variable speed drives (VSDs) that are used throughout industry in China to save energy by providing precision control of electric motors.

國家級“綠色工廠”創建活動旨在高度表彰入選企業在可持續發展方面所付出的努力。該認證充分彰顯了中國鼓勵發展綠色環保產業的決心。ABB北京工廠主要生產面向全國各行各業的多種變頻器，可通過精準的電機控制來助力客戶節約能源。

China drives factory: The ABB Beijing plant manufacturers a wide range of variable speed drives that help save energy by providing precise control of electric motors.

“ABB’s target is for all its operations to be carbon neutral by 2030. Achieving Green Factory status for the Beijing facility recognizes our commitment tothe continuous optimization of our high-performance products and the outstanding contribution we make to China’s sustainable development,” said LuPing Qi, President, ABB’s Motion, China. “Over the past 10 years we have delivered more than five million drives to customers in China, with a total energy saving equivalent to the annual power generation of 64 large power plants and reducing CO2 emissions by 430 million tons.”

“ABB致力于在2030年前實現所有業務的碳中和。此次北京工廠榮膺國家級‘綠色工廠’稱號，是對我們踐行承諾，持續優化產品性能，促進中國可持續發展的高度認可，”ABB運動控制事業部中國區負責人戚魯平先生表示，“過去的十年間，我們為中國客戶交付了超過500萬臺變頻器，節約的總能源相當于64座大型發電廠的年發電總量， 減少二氧化碳排放約4.3億噸。”

The Beijing site has also taken steps to improve its energy efficiency. This includes a solar PV system on the factory roof, which has generated a total of over 35 megawatt-hours (MWh) as of 2019. ABB’s own drives and high efficiency motors are also incorporated in the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system, constant pressure water supply system and air compressors, reducing power usage by at least 50 percent. Waste heat from the motor test room is used to heat the factory in winter. In addition, ABB has purchased green energy credits through the international carbon exchange platform since 2019, meaning that all power used by the factory comes from green energy.

此外，北京工廠還多措并舉，大幅提高其能源效率，包括：在廠房屋頂安裝的太陽能光伏系統，截止2019年，已生產超過35MWh的電能；在暖通空調(HVAC)系統、恒壓供水系統和空氣壓縮機中，采用了ABB自有變頻器和高效電機，將耗電量降低一半以上；電機檢測室的廢熱在工廠冬季供暖系統中循環使用。此外，自2019年以來，ABB傳動還通過國際碳交易平臺購買綠色能源指標，實現了工廠的綠色運營。

ABB has adopted ecological design as an integral element of its drives product development process. This includes considering the impact on resources and the environment. For example, ABB has optimized the size and the number of parts used in its drives to reduce the amount of materials required.  The company is also focused on building an intelligent factory to improve production efficiency. So far, this includes the construction of four automatic production lines for drive components.

ABB傳動將生態設計融入到變頻器產品的研發過程中，高度重視產品對于資源和環境的影響。例如，不斷優化變頻器的零件尺寸和數量，減少用料量。同時致力于打造智慧工廠，提高生產效率。截止到目前，ABB傳動已順利完成4條變頻器部件自動化生產線的建設。
