EtherCAT Technology Group opens test center in Japan 

EtherCAT技術(shù)組在日本成立測(cè)試中心

August 6, 2009 – To best serve the large number of EtherCAT device vendors in Japan, the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) has opened the first EtherCAT Test Center (ETC) outside of Europe in Kyoto, Japan. This new ETC for conformance testing is operated by the Advanced Software Technology and Mechatronics Research Institute of Kyoto (ASTEM).

8月6日消息——為了給日本大部分的EtherCAT設(shè)備供應(yīng)商提供最好的服務(wù)，EtherCAT技術(shù)組在日本京都開設(shè)了歐洲以外的第一家EtherCAT測(cè)試中心。作為一致性測(cè)試的該新EtherCAT測(cè)試中心由先進(jìn)軟件技術(shù)公司和京都機(jī)電一體化研究所共同運(yùn)營(yíng)。

At the opening ceremony for the Kyoto ETC, ASTEM President and Professor, Dr. Yukihiro Nakamura underlined the extensive experience of his institute with conformance testing. ASTEM has been in charge of operating fieldbus testing facilities since 1996. “We are proud that with EtherCAT we are now supporting the newest, most exciting generation of communication technology, for which many implementations in Japan and Asia are already under way,” Dr. Nakamura said. Martin Rostan, ETG Executive Director and Dr. Nakamura signed the ETC cooperation agreement at the event. For the “ribbon” cutting ceremony, the ribbon had been replaced with a yellow Ethernet cable, symbolizing the core technology used by EtherCAT.

在京都EtherCAT測(cè)試中心的開幕式上，京都機(jī)電一體化研究所主席中村幸博士強(qiáng)調(diào)了其研究所對(duì)一致性測(cè)試的豐富經(jīng)驗(yàn)。京都機(jī)電一體化研究所自1996年起就已經(jīng)負(fù)責(zé)運(yùn)營(yíng)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)總線測(cè)試設(shè)施。“我們感到自豪的是，通過EtherCAT技術(shù)我們現(xiàn)在支持最新的、最令人興奮的新一代通信技術(shù)，而這個(gè)技術(shù)目前在日本和亞洲已經(jīng)取得了大量的實(shí)施應(yīng)用，”中村博士表示。EtherCAT技術(shù)組執(zhí)行主任Martin Rostan與中村博士在儀式上簽署了合作協(xié)議。在剪彩儀式上，緞帶被一根黃色的以太網(wǎng)電纜代替，象征著 EtherCAT使用的核心技術(shù)。

Takeshi Kameda, ETG Representative Japan, highlighted the short, but successful history of EtherCAT in Japan:”By establishing the first test center outside Europe in Kyoto, the ETG clearly honors both the rapid growth of the organization in this country as well as its strong automation device vendor community, which is adopting EtherCAT at a rapid pace,” he said. “Having an EtherCAT Test Center here will further increase the acceptance of EtherCAT in Japan.”

EtherCAT技術(shù)組日本代表龜田武強(qiáng)調(diào)了EtherCAT技術(shù)在日本短暫而成功的歷史：“通過在京都建立歐洲以外的第一個(gè)測(cè)試中心，EtherCAT技術(shù)組明確地贊揚(yáng)了該組織在日本的快速發(fā)展以及其強(qiáng)大的自動(dòng)化設(shè)備供應(yīng)商隊(duì)伍，而EtherCAT技術(shù)的采用在這些供應(yīng)商之間快速發(fā)展，”他表示。“在這里開設(shè)一家EtherCAT測(cè)試中心將進(jìn)一步增加EtherCAT技術(shù)在日本的采用。”

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the city of Kyoto as well as from local ETG member Omron, who is providing initial technical support to establish the test center, but is not involved in its operation. ASTEMs EtherCAT Test Center personnel are receiving training at the original EtherCAT Test Center in Nuremberg, Germany, in order to ensure a uniform test process regardless of the Test Center location. The Kyoto Test Center will be fully operational in a few weeks from now, serving the Japanese as well as the overall Asian EtherCAT community.

京都市的代表以及當(dāng)?shù)谽therCAT技術(shù)組成員歐姆龍公司出席了開幕式。歐姆龍公司為該測(cè)試中心提供最初的技術(shù)支持，但不涉及中心的運(yùn)營(yíng)。京都機(jī)電一體化研究所EtherCAT測(cè)試中心的人員正在接受德國(guó)紐倫堡原EtherCAT測(cè)試中心的培訓(xùn)，以確保無(wú)論在哪個(gè)測(cè)試中心都有一個(gè)統(tǒng)一的測(cè)試過程。京都測(cè)試中心將從現(xiàn)在開始的數(shù)周內(nèi)全面運(yùn)作，為日本以及全亞洲的EtherCAT隊(duì)伍提供服務(wù)。
