ARC says Servo Drive Market to reach $3.8 billion by 2010

Dedham, Massachusetts; February 27, 2007: The worldwide market for servo drives is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.6% over the next five years. The market was $3,070 million in 2005 and is forecasted to be over $3,839 million in 2010, according to a new ARC Advisory Group study.

Combining high power servo drives with integrated machine safeguarding solutions will enable many machine builders to lower the complexity of machine automation,” according to Research Director Sal Spada, the principal author of ARC’s “Servo Drive Worldwide Outlook.”

These developing markets will provide high growth for servo drive equipment which will enable manufacturers to preserve high quality and consistency of their products.

Thus, the hydraulic and pneumatic solutions which have dominated machinery applications are now steadily being replaced by all electric servo drives.
