MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio, Sept. 26, 2006 - System designers and end users have more options to choose from now that Rockwell Automation has added three new modules to its Allen Bradley Compact I/O product line. Compatible with the Allen Bradley CompactLogix Programmable Automation Controller, the Compact I/O line features a patented, rackless design that extends the benefits of Integrated Architecture to small and midsize applications.

The new Compact I/O modules include the 1769-OB32T digital output, the 1769-IG16 input, and the 1769-OG16 output. The 1769-OB32T digital output module is a 32-point 24V dc module. It uses the standard single-slot plastic case developed specifically for customers that require high density I/O with a focus on panel space savings.

The new digital modules, including the 1769-OG16 output and 1769-IG16 input are 16-point 5V dc modules. They feature a standard, single-slot plastic case and increase flexibility by allowing users to connect to low voltage devices.

All three of the new Compact I/O modules are currently available and feature a unique tongue-and-groove design that locks the modules together. This modularity allows users to mix and match up to 30 Compact I/O modules to build exactly the system they need. This design also means the I/O modules can be installed on a panel with two mounting screws or on a DIN rail, eliminating the need for a rack and conserving panel space.
